LIFE Senior Services Roma Berry Center

Groundbreaking

LIFE Senior Services broke ground Tuesday, February 28, on a 9-acre campus near 51st and Sheridan. Renovating and expanding the former Bates Elementary School, the 39,000-square-foot Roma Berry Center will host three of LIFE’s signature programs that help seniors stay active and independent as long as possible: Active Senior Center, Adult Day Health, and the LIFE PACE program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly. Other amenities will include an 8,450-square-foot gymnasium, gardens and outdoor recreation areas, on-site parking, and 6 acres left open for growth.

According to keynote speaker Mayor G.T. Bynum, 20% of Tulsa’s population will be senior citizens by 2030. The Roma Berry Center is a big step toward supporting this growing group of citizens. “We want Tulsa to be the best city it can be for senior citizens,” Mayor Bynum said.

For more than four decades, LIFE Senior Services has strategically grown to meet the emerging needs of an ever-increasing and diverse aging population. LIFE provides solutions that allow older adults to maintain their independence and live their lives to the fullest. Centers for active aging, caregiver education and support, volunteer opportunities, and affordable housing are just a few of the programs and services that make life better for thousands of older adults each year.
