When TCC asked for a highly collaborative learning environment and walkable urban experience for its downtown campus students, Selser Schaefer Architects listened. We knew the building had to make a bold statement to capture the spirit of the creative individuals who would use it.
A major programming goal was the college president’s desire to “Bring it to the Street.” The new center achieves this through abundant transparency that reveals interior happenings to passersby. Night lighting keeps a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly presence along the street, even while the center is unoccupied. And outdoor learning spaces offer visual and aural interactions with the downtown area.
