Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa offers a variety of themed venues and experiences to enhance each stay. From Cherokee Nation Entertainment’s earliest vision for this popular destination, leaders designated one of the hotel spaces as the “Cherokee Tower.”

With an interior remodel in order, Cherokee Nation Entertainment tasked our team with refreshing and modernizing the seven-floor tower. Most importantly, they wanted the decor to introduce and inform patrons of the rich Cherokee culture.

Selser Schaefer Architects took a truly customized approach to create an exceptional guest environment infused with traditional Cherokee colors, motifs and materials.Custom carpeting in the corridors signals the one-of-a-kind Cherokee experience that awaits in the guest rooms, suites and top-floor meeting rooms overlooking the golf course. Once inside the rooms, visitors are greeted with tasteful traditional touches amid modern luxury.

Traditional and Modern Balance

Warm swaths of cedar, a material common in Cherokee arts and culture, cover the custom-designed headboard and bed foundations, complete with power integration for today’s connectivity. The authentic cedar veneer is echoed in the built-in dresser, TV and desk unit. Custom-designed, carefully edited bedding elements introduce traditional Cherokee motifs and colors to an otherwise clean, modern palette. Spaces throughout the variously configured rooms give prominence to Cherokee artwork, including many original paintings.

Throughout the design process, our team balanced the goal of highlighting Cherokee culture with the practical choice of materials, sourced and fabricated in the United States. Down to the last detail such as colorfastness of customized bedding elements, we gave the 148-key Cherokee Tower the value that comes from material durability and future product availability. The result is a one-of-a-kind Cherokee experience that fits within the modern luxury of the overall Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa experience.
