Carnegie-Stout Public Library

Maker Space

Carnegie-Stout desired a space for all ages to gather, create, invent and learn. A do-it-yourself as well as mentor-led environment designed to host a variety of activities including 3-D printing, audio|visual production, jewelry making and sewing.

Our collaborative design process brought together a team of librarians, technology experts, and community leaders. Their vision for an energetic, unique, and creative environment led to the design of this new space. A bold yet simple box enclosure of full-height frameless glazing will put the Maker Space activities on display. Freestanding millwork passes through the glass walls further blurring the boundaries of the space and creating an invitation to enter.
