The Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa envisioned a new Visual Arts Center to provide arts-related services to engage the community in the arts. At the time, AHCT services were spread around various schools, community centers and universities throughout Tulsa.
Selser Schaefer Architects created a design that would foster a creative, collaborative atmosphere where everyone from children to adults, and emerging and professional artists alike, could share ideas. The center was designed to occupy the west half of the Mathews Warehouse, across from the Brady Village Pavilion in downtown Tulsa’s vibrant Brady Arts District.
This project was re-imagined as a new facility on an adjacent site through a cooperative agreement with the George Kaiser Family Foundation.
