Anticipate LEED® Silver Certification
In collaboration with Ross Barney Architects, Selser Schaefer Architects designed Highland Park Elementary as a great place to be — with doors that won’t close to students, families and the community each day at 3:15 p.m. The school is viewed as a learning tool in itself, with exciting environments and teachable experiences, such as giant alphabet letters for climbing. Large windows will allow abundant daylighting. Courtyards will provide protected places for outdoor learning gardens and activities. In addition to its classrooms, the school’s multipurpose areas will serve a multitude of activities for the school day — and beyond. Highland Park will not only provide a premier educational environment for children, but also a sense of ownership for the students, their parents and the Stillwater community.
Planned completion: Summer 2013
