TALLGRASS PRAIRIE PRESERVE RESEARCH CENTER
Phase One of a three-phase plan for this natural habitat, located in Osage County just north of Pawhuska, involved the creation of a new ecological research station and the remodeling of an existing structure to serve as housing for visiting scientists.

The research station features three state-of-the-art labs for chemists, botanists, and biologists to better examine the native minerals, flora, and fauna in their ongoing effort to recreate a functioning ecosystem. A large part of the new center is dedicated to public education, and includes two classrooms for the many schoolchildren who visit.
