SUN BUILDING (Pending Funding)
Selser Schaefer Architects was asked to develop a new image for the Sunray Oil Building, built in downtown Tulsa in 1953. An image that would accommodate restaurant or small retail space on the street level, and office space on the upper floors.
We proposed that the existing brick bands be reduced to provide floor to ceiling window walls on all office floors. The addition of three recessed balconies will articulate the façade and develop enhanced office space on the interior. A canopy over the roof top terrace will be under lit cloaking the top of the building in a warm glow. The vistas from the building are spectacular.
